Goodlatte To Launch Anti Online Gambling Bill.

US representative Bob Goodlatte has issued a statement announcing that he plans to launch another anti-online gambling Bill this week.

The press release states that he will reintroduce the bill later this week, which will contain legislation to ban the $12 billion internet gambling industry.

His first such bill was introduced almost ten year's ago but Goodlatte has endured successive defeats over his continuing proposals.

A statement from Goodlatte's office read: "The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act is vital to protect our children and communities from the problems of addiction, crime, bankruptcy and family difficulties that come from gambling."

If similar to Goodlatte's previous bills, the new legislation would make it illegal to use the internet for gambling and give law enforcement officials the ability to stop offshore credit card payments to gambling sites.

Reports have suggested that the dip in stock for European gaming companies Partygaming and 888 fell due to market concerns over the impending legislation.
